Three More Shows at Spoon in the Moon

Night falls in Tisbury, and the Vineyard Playhouse again becomes the Spoon in the Moon Coffeehouse.

This May three separate performances will wrap up the coffeehouse’s first season, beginning with charismatic West Tisbury bluegrass and blues from Brad Tucker and Friends on May 22. On May 28, smoky, folky crooner Sarah Blacker, returning for the second time since playing the coffeehouse’s fall 2009 debut, will share the bill with Girls Guns and Glory, a youthful, high energy band from Scituate, who are currently touring their third album, Inverted Valentine. And finally, the season closes with an album release celebration for Island native and southern California transplant Meghan LaRoque, who will perform songs from her debut full-length album, Carry Me Home, the evening of May 29.

Doors open at 7 p.m., shows start at 7:30 p.m. and admission is $15 at the door. Cost of admission includes coffee. Baked goods are available, too. For details, call 508-696-6300, e-mail boxoffice@vineyardplayhouse.org or visit vineyardplayhouse.org.
