Nonprofit board and staff members can get help building an effective marketing campaign at a half-day workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Presenter Sue Silk will guide participants through such questions as: Is your mission compelling, clear, distinctive and valuable? Do your communications break through the clutter and engage donors in your cause? Do donors and the public understand the impact of your work? Can your marketing plan be improved?

Nonprofit Marketing: What, Why, Who and How? is designed for anyone with authority over creating, approving or implementing a marketing plan. It’s also designed specifically for those groups working in the unique Vineyard community.

It’s interactive, with a focus on 2010 marketing plans. Ms. Silk, a communications and marketing consultant who recently moved full-time to the Vineyard, then will spend an hour at a later date with any participants who complete their plans by Dec. 10

The workshop is at the Hebrew Center. Check in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the program runs from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Admission is $15 and lunch will be served. Space is limited. Details and registration, available online at mvdonors.org, or at 508-645-3690.
