Superior Court Marks 150th

The chief justice of the Massachusetts superior court will be on the Vineyard on Wednesday, Oct. 28, to lead an education program in marking the 150th anniversary of the superior court. The Hon. Barbara J. Rouse will be at the Edgartown courthouse at 11 a.m. for the program with Island junior high school students. The program will feature a discussion about the work and history of the courts, followed by a question and answer session. Also appearing for the program will be the Hon. Cornelius Moriarty 2nd, an associate justice of the superior court, county clerk of courts Joseph E. Sollitto Jr., Cape and Islands district attorney Michael O’Keefe, district court Judge H. Gregory Williams and Dukes County Bar Association president Martin V. Tomassian Jr. The program will take place in the main courtroom and is open to the public.
