Please Adopt Us

Unfortunately everyone wants to adopt a kitten; as of now the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is all out of kittens but we do have some wonderful adult cats who need homes. Adult cats make wonderful pets; our cats are housebroken, have had all their shots and are spayed or neutered. Please stop by the shelter and see all these great cats. They are: Cleo, a sweet, mostly white cat who has been at the shelter much too long and really needs good home; Sky, a handsome part-Siamese with beautiful blue eyes; Squibby, a declawed tiger Manx (no tail) who needs to be a house cat only; Sunny, a female tortoise shell; Phoebe and Max, cage mates who would love to be adopted together because they are closely bonded; Miss Kitty, a female tortoise shell who is very friendly and loves people; and last of all Casper, the perfect Halloween cat, all black and a real lap cat.

Volunteers are still needed for the afternoon hours; the shelter is now open from Wednesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Remember our memorial brick campaign; for a donation of $100 for one brick or $180 for two bricks, you can memorialize a pet or honor a person. The bricks will be laid in front of the shelter. The telephone number at the shelter is 508-627-8662.

And don’t forget if you are missing a pet to call the shelter and your vet and your local animal control officer. And if you have a need for a special dog or cat, please call the shelter and get on our wish list.
