The New England Wildflower Society will hold an informational meeting about their Plant Conservation Volunteer program at the Polly Hill Arboretum on Tuesday, June 30 from noon to 2 p.m. Learn about becoming a citizen scientist and monitoring rare plant sites in the region. Volunteers survey known rare plant populations, manage invasive plants, and participate in a number of classes and field trips, while committing only to what they have timefor. This program was established i n 1992 to assist natural heritage programs around New England to maintain the records of their rare plantpopulations. The requirements are motivation, discretion, and a basic knowledge of wildflowers.  It’s a great way to learn more about plants, meet others with similar interests, and make an impact in conservation. For details, call 508-693-9426. Bring a brown bag lunch.
