The Vineyard Haven Public Library is giving away MP3 players. The library will be offering two classes in February to teach patrons how to use the Clams (Cape Libraries Automated Materials Sharing) overdrive service to download audio books and music.

The classes will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 28 at the library. During each class a drawing will be held, and one class participant will win an MP3 player, a portable device that can be used to listen to digital audio files.

The library also has five MP3 players available for loan to library patrons. The players may be checked out for one week at a time, and must be picked up and returned at the library circulation desk.

OverDrive is a new collection of downloadable digital media available through participating libraries in the Clams network, including Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. There are currently more than 1,000 titles to choose from in the growing collection.

During the month of March, library patrons will have an additional chance to win. Patrons who sign up, check out and download titles in March will automatically be entered to win one of two Creative MuVo V100 MP3 players courtesy of Overdrive.
