On Sunday, July 20 and Sunday, July 27, the Rev. Ronald E. Ramsey, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Arlington will be the celebrant and preacher at Trinity Episcopal Church, Oak Bluffs.

The chapel is opposite the Steamship Authority wharf in Oak Bluffs. The service begins at 9 a.m.

Dr. Ramsey is a graduate of Warner Southern College, Morehouse School of Religion and International Theological Center, and Trinity Lutheran Seminary.

In June of 2007, he released a book of sermons, Living Water: Sermons for All Seasons, a collection of sermons conceived to reveal the love of God poured out in Jesus Christ as the true living water.

On Sunday, July 20 at 5 p.m., the fourth annual service of Evensong will be held to celebrate the lives and contributions of the Right Rev. John Melville Burgess, former bishop of Massachusetts, and his wife Esther Taylor Burgess. Since their deaths in 2003 and 2004, they both have been sorely missed.

The preacher for that service will be the Rev. Darryl James, rector of Grace Church in Jamaica, N.Y.

Music will be provided by the combined choirs of Grace Episcopal Church in Vineyard Haven and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Edgartown under the direction of Nancy Rogers. The organist will be Trinity’s organist Wesley Brown. The soloist will be Shelley Brown.
