Our weather is so typical for this time of year. We get a warm day and think this is it, we might be over the worst. Then the next day it snows. However, if it wasn’t this way, what would we have to talk about?

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Kya Maloney who celebrated on March 8, Phillip Jordan and Ava Thors who celebrated on March 11, Caroline Gazaille on March 13, and to Brenda DeOliveira who celebrates her day on March 15.

Belated birthday wishes to Capt. Dick Kelly, also known as Capt Kell, who celebrated his day on March 1. This was a milestone birthday for him and the firefighting gang surprised him with his favorite carrot cake. Here is to many more, Capt. Kell.

It is official: spring is definitely around the corner. The Dairy Queen opens Tuesday, March 18. As it is every year, the school children will be waiting for the final bell and the bus will make its first stop at the ice cream shop for the kids. I am sure there are plenty of adults who are also patiently waiting for Tuesday. What is better than a hot fudge sundae or a buster bar in the middle of March?

There is not much news this week. But things are starting to pick up. Michael Donaroma is back from St. John to check out the nursery and landscaping jobs to be done. Janice is still holding down the fort in St. John and won’t come back until Mike goes down to get her when the weather is warmer.

I went over to the nursery the other day for a reunion of some sort. I was checking out the new building that will hold the outside register and display lots of plants and new products. It was up in ten days and it is beautiful. Stuart and Tony laid a brick and blue stone slate floor and now we don’t want to put anything on it.

Some of the girls are back to work. Lori is working now after her winter off and she got up to see her sister and brother in law Christy and Pete and their children. Paula is working some short hours and she and her husband Matt are expecting their first child in May.

And of course there are Ernie and Patty who have held down the fort for the winter months ordering new plants, trees and bushes. In fact the bulbs are in and the hyacinths and tulips are blooming and there are some pansies. It was great to see everyone and I forgot how much I missed everyone until I saw them.

Have a good weekend. It is fun driving around and seeing everything and seeing people you have not seen for a while.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
