Charter School Students

Plan Katrina Relief Work

A group of high school students from the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School will return to Biloxi, Miss., to continue their Hurricane Katrina relief work. The students will be traveling Jan. 6 through 12 to work with the Restoration Point non-profit organization.

While in Mississippi, students will work at various locations in the community as members of construction, painting and landscaping work crews. Fund-raising efforts are underway to defray the cost of the trip.

Look for students at Island grocery stores Thanksgiving weekend. You also can show your support at a spaghetti dinner to be held in the coming weeks. Tax-deductible donations also are welcome. Checks can be made out to M.V. Public Charter School/Mississippi trip. More information is available by calling adviser Leslie Frizzell at 508-693-9900.
