Tisbury School students and staff got into the spirit of giving back this month by participating in the school's second annual Movember Food Drive to benefit the Island Food Pantry. In the end, 1,168 items of food were collected and delivered to the Island Food Pantry.

Seven staff members grew beards and mustaches starting in the beginning of November to raise awareness about the food drive and motivate the students, who voted for a staff member to shave half their facial hair at the end of the food drive. Principal John Custer was the top vote-getter and had to shave. Nicole Shirley's third grade and Kari Leal's sixth grade homeroom classes donated the most food items and earned the privilege of watching the "live shave," which took place on the Tiger Talk television program.
