Vintage cars of all makes, models and colors lined Oak Bluffs streets this week. Ivy Ashe

The harborfront in Oak Bluffs resembled a scene from the movies on Saturday, as vintage cars of all makes, models and colors lined the street in anticipation of the annual Aquinnah Powercruise.

Now in its twentieth year, the powercruise, hosted by the Boston Area Roadsters, draws auto enthusiasts from around New England, as well as New York and New Jersey. The Wesley Hotel is filled to capacity as old friends catch up on the porch. For many, it is the only time each year they get the chance to see one another, said Skip Hallwood of Connecticut. Mr. Hallwood, like many participants, was outside early Saturday morning giving his car one last touch-up before heading to the Aquinnah Circle.

After all, for the participants in the powercruise, it's all about the details.

The Boston Area Roadsters bring an aura of automotive history and style to the Vineyard with their annual visit. Their trek to the Cliffs shares the charm and beauty of the vehicles with the rest of the Island. We're fortunate to have the opportunity to see these vintage vehicles in all their glory.
